Finance Assistant

Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Lombard House
Contract: Fixed Term for a period of 12 months

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team at Inspire Wellbeing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career within a values-driven organisation that is committed to making a positive difference to people's lives.

Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will gain exposure to a broad range of finance activities including invoicing, reconciliations, reporting and month-end processes, helping to ensure the smooth and effective operation of our services. Your work will play an important behind-the-scenes role in supporting the delivery of mental health, wellbeing, addiction and intellectual disability services across the communities we serve.

This role offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to develop valuable finance experience within a supportive and collaborative team environment where colleagues work together to share knowledge, solve problems and continuously improve the services provided across the organisation.

What you'll do

  • Complete monthly invoicing accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Allocate receipts and payments to the appropriate accounts and maintain financial records.
  • Assist with account reconciliations, month-end activities and financial reporting.
  • Support credit control processes and the preparation of journals and bank transactions.
  • Undertake financial analysis and account investigations as required.
  • Respond to finance-related queries from colleagues and external stakeholders, providing a high standard of customer service.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Finance Team to support the effective delivery of departmental objectives.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum of 4 GCSE passing grades (or equivalent), to include English Language and Mathematics AND one years’ experience in a Finance function.

OR

• 18 months’ experience working in a Finance function.

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience in the use of Microsoft Office programmes, with a focus on being a competent Excel user.
• The ability to manage and prioritise workloads to ensure timely and effective outcomes.
• The ability to use initiative and work with minimum direction.
