New Haven is a warm, homely 24-hour supported living service based in a shared house in Cookstown. We support five adults aged 18-60 who are living with complex mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and high-functioning autism.

 

Our role is to help residents develop daily living skills, build healthy routines and relationships, and grow their confidence to live as independently as possible within the community. Referrals come from the Community Mental Health Team and local hospitals, and each resident receives person-centred support tailored to their needs

 

What the job entails

As Night Cover, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and security of our service throughout the night. You'll be the main point of contact in the event of emergencies, while helping to create a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for the people we support.

What will you be doing?

  • Being the main point of contact overnight, providing support and assistance to residents as required and responding to any emergencies that may arise.
  • Creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment that promotes wellbeing, recovery and independence.
  • Carrying out security and health & safety checks throughout the building, ensuring residents and premises remain safe and secure.
  • Supporting residents with their individual needs, including promoting positive physical and mental health and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Maintaining accurate records, completing reports and effectively communicating any important information to colleagues during handovers.
  • Administering medication where required and working in line with organisational policies, procedures and best practice standards.
