Peripatetic Project Worker - South Eastern Trust Area

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 Per Week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Peripatetic Project Worker to support residents across our Supported Housing services in the South Eastern Trust Area. The role will support people with mental health needs to build confidence, develop independent living skills and take positive steps towards more independent community living where appropriate.

About the supported housing service

The service supports residents across a pathway of accommodation options, ranging from secure intensive support and higher-support rehabilitation placements through to more independent accommodation with floating support.

Our recovery-focused approach

Support is trauma-informed, person-centred and focused on recovery. Residents are encouraged to build confidence, strengthen practical independent living skills and take positive steps towards community living where this is right for them.

What support includes:

Supporting confidence, motivation and mental health recovery
Helping residents develop everyday skills, including medication management, budgeting, cooking, routines and daily living
Providing advocacy and practical support to overcome barriers to independence
Encouraging meaningful engagement through structured activities, community outings and therapeutic opportunities

What the Job Entails

As a Project Worker, you will support residents with day-to-day living, recovery goals and personal development across a varied pathway of supported housing services. No two days are the same, and the role offers the opportunity to build relationships, encourage independence and contribute to meaningful progress in residents’ lives.

Supporting residents with medication, meal preparation, routines and daily living tasks
Encouraging independence in areas such as budgeting, appointments, self-care and practical life skills
Building trusting relationships and engaging residents in meaningful activities
Responding to safeguarding concerns and incidents appropriately
Completing support records, reviews and care planning using multiple IT systems
Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent, person-centred support

The role suits someone who is proactive, creative and confident using their initiative. This could include starting a new activity, encouraging a resident to attend an appointment, or finding practical ways to support someone to build confidence and independence.
