Help turn financial information into better decisions and more sustainable services.

The opportunity

We are looking for a proactive and credible Finance Business Partner to work alongside leaders and budget holders across designated service areas. This is a key role in strengthening financial planning, performance management, and decision-making across Inspire.

You will combine strong financial analysis with practical business understanding, translating financial and operational information into clear advice. You will help colleagues understand performance, identify risks and opportunities, and take action to deliver financially sustainable services.

What you will do

  • Act as the primary finance contact for designated directorates and service areas, building trusted relationships with leaders, managers and budget holders.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly management reporting, explaining key variances, trends, and underlying performance drivers.
  • Lead budget setting, in-year forecasting and medium-term financial planning for your service areas.
  • Provide constructive challenges and practical financial advice to support accountable decisions.
  • Develop costings and financial models for business cases, tenders, funding applications, contract reviews and service developments.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, agree actions with budget holders and track delivery.
  • Promote strong financial control and compliance with policies, delegated authorities, procurement requirements and funding conditions.
  • Use Access Financials, Power BI and other reporting tools to improve the quality and accessibility of financial information.
  • Contribute to finance transformation, process improvement, testing, training and business-readiness activity.

What you will bring

  • A recognised professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA, or part-qualification supported by substantial relevant experience.
  • Experience of preparing and interpreting management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
  • The ability to analyze financial and operational information and identify the issues that matter.
  • Experience explaining financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and influencing decisions.
  • Confidence in providing financial advice and constructive challenges to managers and budget holders.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, with the ability to use finance and reporting systems effectively.
  • A practical, collaborative approach, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
